EL INVERNADERO RODRIGO DE LA CALLE One Michelin Star

We had an enjoyable and excellent vegetarian meal at this newly awarded one Michelin star restaurant run by chef Rodrigo de la Calle, who has worked at various Michelin-starred restaurants over the years, especially with Martín Berasategui at his eponymous restaurant in Lasarte.

We chose the #VegetaliaPower menu at €135 (there are other menus at €95 and €65), including water, bread, cheeses and pairing their drinks and wines, coffees, infusions and table service.

"The kitchen aims to use the vegetal nature, respect the product, accept its temporality and evanescence & allow ourselves to be carried by the cycles of life marked by the seasons, obtaining maximum expression from them ".

There is also imitation birdsong to go with the plants and trees adorning the restaurant!

The Menu

The food is matched with their own drinks, in this case, homemade wines like

Strawberry & rosemary wine

Fennel with Szechuan pepper & dried orange peel wine

Blueberry wine

Honey & ginger beer

The restaurant is small, with space for only five tables, each with a maximum capacity of four people.

Next to the kitchen are three more tables with a capacity for one or two diners. This is the best way to watch the dishes' preparation while enjoying the food experience.

Overall, it is a fantastic experience, especially if you are a vegetarian!

Non-vegetarians can add meat or fish to this menu if they wish.
