FRANCE - VIENNE - LES SAVEURS DU MARCHÉ
A three day trip across the border into France took us to southeastern France and stays in Lyon and Vienne (located 35 kilometres south of Lyon, on the river Rhône)
Our first restaurant on the trip was
LES SAVEURS DU MARCHÉ Michelin Plate IIO
An attractive and dynamically run restaurant where the immaculate tables and chairs back onto stone walls.
This contemporary decor is the ideal backdrop for chef Sebastien Désestet's market fresh products full of flavour, which is as you would expect in a restaurant with such a name.
We had the 1001 Saveurs set menu at €45

Duo de foie gras et omble chevalier fumé croustillant aux céréales, chutney de mangue et purée de betteraves (duo of foie gras and crispy smoked arctic char with cereals, mango chutney and beet purée)

Tiramisu à la châtaigne et whisky, crème de marrons et crème glacée vanille bourbon (chestnut and whiskey tiramisu, chestnut cream and vanilla bourbon ice cream)

We had two bottles of Duclaux Côte Rôte at €56 a bottle.
Service was pleasant and professional.
The meal for three with wines, water and coffee came to €280.
