ALICANTE CITY - RESTAURANTE NOU MANOLÍN

NOU MANOLÍN    Michelin Plate IIO

This well-known spot in Alicante city centre has two separate areas.

Upstairs is a chic, destination restaurant that does creative seafood dishes that are consistently excellent. Downstairs, you will find a casual, come-as-you-are type of bar.

We recommend sitting at the bustling bar counter on the first floor. (it is wise to turn up when they open the doors in the evening).

We started with good ostras (oysters), then buñuelos de bacalao (deep-fired cod balls in batter).

Especial mariposa (butterfly special).

Lomo de lubina (seabass fillet).

Steak tartar de vacuno mayor con patatas fritas (steak tartar of older beef with chips).

For dessert, we had,

Tarta fina de manzana con helado de mantecado (thin apple pie with butter ice cream).

Torrija con helado de turrón (similar to french toast with nougat ice cream).

The bar has a charming atmosphere, attention to detail and, most importantly, no-fuss up-market food. It has firmly established itself as a place to visit in Alicante.

Local bottles of wine from around €18.
