IBIZA - CALA NOVA - CHIRINGUITO CAN COLOMARET
CHIRINGUITO CAN COLOMARET
We took another trip from Sant Antoni to the lovely beach at Cala Nova, in the north of the Island.
There are a few expensive, trendy restaurants here as well as Hotel Bless, which has one of the three, One Michelin Star, restaurants on the Island.
We decided to go to the opposite end of the beach, to Chiringuito Can Colomaret.
This traditional, tiny shack, on Cala Nova has been serving the local community with freshly caught fish and seafood for over 20 years.
The family-run business is most certainly no frills but is consistently busy and for good reason, the seafood is some of the best on the island.
Once settled in, we started with the ubiquitous, pan con alioli and olives,
and a bottle of Segura Viudas Xarel·lo 2022 (a white wine from Penedès)
Followed by,
Rodaballo (turbot) with hand-cut, homemade chips, which I am told, they are famous for. Some people just come for a plate of chips and a beer.
Dorado (gilt-head sea bream) with mixed salad.
Has you can see, it was excellent.
After lunch, we had a dip in the warm Balearic sea.
I have heard that they can have stroppy service but did not find that to be the case, on this occasion.
