MADRID - ROOSTIQ
ROOSTIQ
We had an excellent dining experience here, in the Chueca district of Madrid, during the big snow storm of January 2021. It is a modern style asador where they serve really good, honest food, in a wonderful setting, with an open fire.
All the tasty, healthy, and organic produce, is from their own garden farm in Ávila, in the rolling hills and countryside northwest of Madrid.
To start, we had the highly recommended,
Torrenznos Roostiq (Roostiq's fried belly pork)
There are many many torreznos but everyone thinks theirs is the best. Roostiq’s are wonderful. They are juicy, soft, and crispy, with hardly any fat. If you like, or more still, love torreznos, this is the place to come. The sommelier, Esteban, recommended Cava, to go with the torreznos.
Followed by
Espinacas y rúcula a la brasa con huevos plancha y vinagreta de bacon.
(grilled spinach and arugula with fried eggs and bacon vinagrette).
Acelgas salteadas a la llama (chard, sautéed over the flame).
Brownie blanco y negro (brownie black & white).
The excellent wines recommended by Esteban were,
Mas Xarot Gran Reserva 2013 - Monastell.
Leirana Albariño Forjas Del Salnes 2018 - Rias Baixas.
De Blas Serrano Phylos 2014 Tinto del Pais - Ribera del Duero.
A sweet, Artadi El Seque 2015 - Alicante.
Service was very good and obliging.
